What is
monkeypox?
Today 88 countries are affected by monkey pox. It is a
zoonotic viral infection that can spread from animals to humans. In addition,
humans can infect it to humans. That was first discovered by scientists in
1958, and the first human case of monkey pox was recorded in 1970. This disease
mainly spreads in African countries, but in 2022 year, that is distributed to
88 countries worldwide.
Symptoms of M.P.
The monkey pox virus shows many symptoms. There are
- Fever
- Headache
- Muscle aches
- Back pain
- Low energy
- Swollen lymph nodes
Among the 2 or 3 weeks that can develop into the rash. Those
rashes can be found on the face, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, eyes,
mouth, throat, groin, and genital and anal regions of the body.
That can be spread from when symptoms start until the rash
has healed, all scabs have fallen off, and a fresh layer of skin has formed.
The illness typically lasts 2-4 weeks. It is not fatal, but the virus can be
deadly in some people. Newborns, children, and people with underlying immune
deficiencies may risk more severe symptoms and death from monkey pox.
How is it
transmitted?
Monkey pox can spread to people when they contact an
infected animal. Monkey pox is transmitted from person to person through close
